For me, the life and death of a 12-year-old friend taught me the true meaning of "live every day like it's your last" and inspired me to raise awareness about the true importance of organ donation. It is NOT just a question. It is the difference between life and death for thousands of people.
Zac Reyna
At just 12 years old, my friend Zac lost his battle to a brain-eating amoeba. It is my hope that his legacy will live on through my advocacy work.
Mema
Several years after Zac passed, my grandmother, my Mema, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. After an 11 month battle, her battle was finished and her suffering ended. Her body was donated to scientific research and I honor her wishes to be organ donor through my desire to educate others about organ donation.

MY ADVOCACY WORK
MY ADVOCACY WORK
I believe that education is the key to filling the gap between the number of patients currently waiting for their life-saving organ on the National Transplant Waiting List and the number of people registered as organ donors. Through different programs, I am helping to bridge that gap.

This program is geared towards students grades K-5. It helps students understand how their brains and emotions work, so that someday they can make important decisions like becoming an organ donor.

Focused on Middle and High School Aged Students
This program is geared toward students grades 6-12. We explore the importance of organ donation and the life-saving impact that decision can have. Students often pledge to speak with their freinds and fmaily about making this decision.
